Introduction
Reference sites are sites where X-pos products are delivered to customers. They are key to accessing X-pos services. Those who need to download RINEX files from the SBC Portal or require reference data to compute accurate coordinates for their rovers can rely on the X-pos repository, which is filled with data coming from Reference Sites.
Synchronisation of Reference Sites
For further information on X-pos Architecture and Components and on the Connection to the X-pos server, please read the corresponding sections of the X-pos - Overview help page. This section of the SBC online help focuses on the synchronization of Reference Sites between Leica Spider and SBC.
If the connection to the X-pos server is successful, all Reference Sites configured on the Spider Site Server will be synchronised with SBC.
Once the synchronisation has occurred, all relevant site properties will be available in SBC. They are listed under Settings > X-pos > Reference Sites. The list is updated automatically according to any changes made to site properties on the Spider Site Server. The “Last Update” column indicates this. This shows the last time when information on the X-pos server was updated by the Spider Site Server. The site marker name and number, its Geodetic and Cartesian coordinates, the installed receiver model and antenna type, the tracked constellations, the minimum required elevation mask, and the logging data rate set on the receiver are all displayed.
Please note that the Product Marker Coordinates in the X-pos File Product are used in the RINEX Data, Virtual RINEX and Coordinate Computation services.
The “Registration” column of the table contains a chain icon to indicate whether a site has been activated for X-pos. If a site's X-pos option is disabled after it has been synchronised once, then this site will be marked as “Inactive” (red chain icon). All sites with the X-pos option enabled will instead have a green icon.
Generally, there is no continuous connection between the Spider Site Server and the X-pos Server. Instead, the Spider Site Server communicates “on demand” with the X-pos Server via the API. When relevant changes to a site's configuration are made on the Spider Site Server, this triggers synchronisation:

Change of site properties (e.g., the site's coordinates)

Enabling or disabling a site for X-pos

Activate or deactivate an X-pos File Product
Also available is an “Antenna” column containing an antenna icon. Sites whose antenna parameters are known are marked with a green antenna indicator, while sites whose antenna is not supported by X-pos show a red icon instead. The “Published” checkbox is available for each reference site. If this is selected, the corresponding site will be made available for RINEX Data requests, Virtual RINEX Data requests and Coordinate Computation on the SBC Portal. Otherwise, the site will not be usable for delivering RINEX files and will therefore not be visible on the RINEX data map.
