Introduction
The RINEX Data service allows users to download RINEX files for a specified time period. These files are provided by the X-pos Reference Sites.
Only users with a suitable subscription can benefit from the RINEX Data service. According to the properties of the subscribed article, limitations on usage of the RINEX Data service may be in place, expressed in epochs. Please note that the RINEX Data option is only visible on the SBC User Portal if the “Enable RINEX Download Service” slider is toggled on the Settings > X-pos > General page.
RINEX Data Requests
Users can give a project name to each RINEX request. This is not mandatory.
On the “RINEX Data” page, users can select the desired start date and duration, as well as the reference station(s) from which they wish to obtain RINEX files. When a RINEX request is triggered, the files are taken from the X-pos data repository; therefore, they all come from the synchronised X-pos reference sites. The location where X-pos RINEX data is stored is defined by the Root Path of X-pos Data Repository.
Users can only request RINEX data from reference sites that have been marked as “Published” by system administrators on the Settings > X-pos > Reference Sites page. These sites will be displayed on the “RINEX Data” page, both on the map and in the site list on the right.
The following are the default characteristics of original X-pos file products stored in the X-pos Data Repository:

File length: 15 minutes (start/end times will be expanded to fit the 15-minute file length)

When triggering a RINEX Data Request, it is possible to choose to merge and/or decimate the output files. If merging is selected, only one file per site will be delivered as a result of the data request and its length will equal the user-selected duration. If decimation is selected, the output RINEX files will have an observation rate of more than one second. Users can choose from observation rates of one, five, ten, fifteen, twenty, thirty or sixty seconds. Each time a rate different to one second is selected, merging is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled. In other words, the only case in which the user can request non-merged files is when they select a one-second observation rate.
Changing or merging the observation rate of the input files will put a strain on the X-pos Server machine. A new product called RINEX Data Access (Basic) has been introduced. If a user has a subscription to this product, the “Merge files” option and the observation rate dropdown will not be displayed on the “RINEX Data” page. The user will only be able to perform non-concatenated RINEX-based requests and download them.
