To create a subscription, you need:
-
Select a user as the subscription owner. Click “Select user” to open a dialog as described Users | Overview Page and choose user of interest.

The “Add Subscription” dialogue can be left by pressing "Save” which will create the subscription in the state “pending”, or it can be directly activated via that dialogue by selecting the “Activate” button on the top right.
Regional Subscription
If an article with regional restrictions is selected, a region selection section is displayed during subscription creation.
The following rules apply:
-
One or more regions can be assigned to define the subscription owner’s working area.
-
The number of assigned regions must not exceed the maximum allowed by the selected article (see “Restriction” from Articles | Details).
-
If no regions are assigned, the customer’s workspace is unrestricted.
Details
Alongside those key properties on Subscriptions | Overview Table, the following subscription details are also included.
|

|---|---|
|
First name |
Property of the selected user. |
|

Progress bars
If a consumption limit is defined for a subscription, additional information is displayed as progress bars.
The type of progress bar shown depends on the selected article, for example:
-
RINEX subscriptions display an Epochs remaining progress bar.
-
RTK subscriptions display an Hours remaining progress bar.
Each progress bar displays the remaining percentage of the total quota, along with the raw remaining value and the total quota.
|
Parameter |
Description |
|
Days Remaining |
The number of days remaining until the subscription reaches its Renewal Date. Around the progress bar:
|
|
Epoch remaining |
The number of remaining epochs available for the subscription. |
|
Hours remaining |
The number of remaining usage hours available for the subscription. |
Progress bars use colour coding to indicate the subscription quota status:
-
Green, indicates sufficient remaining quota. It decreases consistently from right to left.
-
Yellow, indicates that the remaining quota is less than 10% of the total quota.
-
Red, indicates that the subscription is expired or the quota is fully consumed. In this state, the remaining percentage is 0%.
Grace Period
Grace Period is a Hexagon SmartNet‑only feature and can be set only during subscription creation and only when using the SBC-API.
If a grace period is defined, an additional progress bar is displayed, using the same format as other progress bars above.
The following rules apply:
-
If grace period = 0:
-
Expiry Date = Renewal Date
-
-
If grace period ≠ 0:
-
Expiry Date = Renewal Date + Grace Period.
-
Name
You can assign a specific meaning to your subscription name by changing it during creation. After that, you cannot change it. The name must be unique.
By default, SBC generates unique subscription names with the following logic to assist administrators:
-
The format of the subscription name is divided into three parts:
-
Two characters static text (LE)
-
10 random characters
-
Generated out of numbers 0 to 9 and characters A to Z
-
-
Date / time indicator
-
YY = year (two digits)
-
DOY = day of year (range from 0 to 365)
-
HH = hour (range from 01 to 24)
-
MM = minutes (range from 01 to 60)
-
SS = second (range from 01 to 60)
-
-
-
Example: LE-6M9XE9X108-1497140335
Edit Subscription
A subscription can be edited in the following ways:
-
Change the subscription owner
-
Expire a subscription
-
Renew a subscription
-
Change the working area for a subscription (see Regional Subscription).
Change subscription owner
The subscription owner can be changed only if the new owner has access to the same article.
The owner can be changed regardless of organisation, provided the article remains unchanged.
Expire subscription
You can expire a subscription at any time.
The Expire and Renew actions are available from the Actions button.
Renew subscription
A subscription can be renewed implicitly by changing dates or explicitly using the Renew action.
Renew by changing the Renewal Date
Administrators can change the renewal date to renew a subscription implicitly using the date picker in the “Renewal date” property row. Its relationship with the grace period and expiry date, described at Grace Period, adjusts accordingly.
Renew using the Renew action
The Renew action is available when a subscription is in one of these statuses:
-
Active
-
Expired
-
Exceeded
Choose one of the following renewal options from the Actions button:
-
Renew from today
-
Renew from previous renewal date
After selecting an option, the Renewal Date and Expiry Date are updated automatically, see What changes after renewal.
For expired subscriptions, renewal always starts from today.
What changes after renewal
For active and exceeded subscriptions, renewal results in:
-
Start date: unchanged.
-
Renewal date: calculated from the selected option above
-
Expiration date: see Grace Period
-
Quota values:
-
reset per the article definition; see “Consumption limit” from Articles | Details.
-
If quota transfer is enabled, only positive values transfer; negative values are ignored.
-
For expired subscriptions, renewal results in:
-
Start date: current date
-
Renewal date: current date + subscription length
-
Expiration date: see Grace Period
-
Quota values: reset per the article definition
Delete Subscription
A subscription can be deleted at any time, regardless of its status.
SBC displays a confirmation warning before deletion.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
