Language Handling

The default language at start-up is the web browser default language. If this default language is not supported by SBC, the next language will be selected according to section Settings > System > Default language.

The possible language settings in the SBC are:

Type

Description

Private or Preferred Language

The language explicitly set for an individual user is called a private language. It applies to all private pages requiring authentication and where the browser's default language is unsupported by SBC.

See User Properties > Personal Information > Language

Default language

The administrator sets the default language for all public pages such as Login, Sign Up, and Forgotten Password, which do not require authentication. This language applies if the browser's default language is unsupported by SBC.

See Settings > System > Default language

4

Select Save to save your settings. The default language is applied to the public pages.

Set up private language

Registered SBC users can set the private language during registration or in their User Profile.

Step

Login with any valid user account (applies to all roles).

Missing Language

The SBC distribution installs all languages that are available at the time of release.

New languages for use in the web portal UI can only be added by the software manufacturer, Leica Geosystems AG, and require an official release of the software. Should you require the software in any language currently not supported, please contact your local Leica Geosystems distribution partner.

Utilising a language in the email notification can be done independently from Leica Geosystems. Find the details at Notifications | Email Templates. Should you want to share your email template translations with other Leica Spider Business Center customers and make it part of the standard software deployment, please also contact your local Leica Geosystems distribution partner.
